Shortlists

Thank you to all the artists for another wonderful year of music. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

One spot in each category was decided by public vote, with the remaining places chosen by an academy of local music industry experts. Check out the results below to see which albums, singles, music videos, and live acts made the cut!

Who decides the shortlist?
The list is of judges compiled by the NI Music Prize organisers The Oh Yeah Centre.

Who are the judges?
Inclusion is based on research on who is out there and working in music in NI and ROI and some NI working outside NI. We try to include as many people that represent as many different genres as possible. The nomination process is completely voluntary however, but everyone is given the opportunity.

Judges are chosen from sectors including music journalism (print and online), radio broadcasters and shows, podcasts, bloggers, programmers, music retail, promoters, live music venues, as well as key influencers from elsewhere in the arts.

Anyone with a conflict of interest must declare it and any musician involved is not allowed to vote for themselves or their band.
